Dental Implants in Thiruvananthapuram Advanced Solutions for Missing Teeth
At Kamala Dental, we specialize in dental implants that restore natural function, aesthetics, and confidence. Using world-class technology and advanced surgical expertise, we provide customized implant solutions - from single tooth replacement to full mouth rehabilitation.
Benefits Of Dental Implants
Dental implants are artificial tooth roots made of medical-grade titanium, that are placed into the jawbone. Unlike traditional dentures or bridges, implants:
- Preserve jawbone health and prevent bone loss
- Restore chewing strength and speech clarity
- Provide a stable, natural-looking replacement for missing teeth
- Last for many years with proper care

Digital Planning & Guided Implant Surgery With R2GATE
Digitally planned and executed implant placements, known as guided implant surgeries, are performed using three-dimensional scans such as CBCT and intraoral scanning, along with specialized software like R2GATE and R2WARE, which are used to design a surgical stent or guide.
These surgical guides or stents serve as templates for keyhole flapless implant surgeries, making the procedure minimally invasive by avoiding trauma to adjacent tissues. A guided approach also significantly reduces the time required for the surgery. Additionally, it helps protect surrounding anatomical structures, such as the inferior alveolar nerve and the sinus floor, by enabling the selection of appropriate implant lengths.
A three-dimensional CBCT scan accurately records the hard tissue architecture, while an intraoral scan captures the soft tissue architecture. The DICOM files from the CBCT and the STL files from intraoral scanning are merged in the R2GATE software, where the implant placement is planned. The quality and quantity of bone and soft tissue, along with its suitability to support a dental implant within adequate bone thickness, are assessed in R2GATE.
A color-coded analysis of the bone morphology allows the planning of an optimal drilling sequence to achieve strong initial implant stability, a feature referred to as ‘Digital Eye’.
Considering all these parameters, the number of implants, their sizes, and axial positions are carefully planned, with the most feasible options selected to achieve maximum anchorage. Based on this digital planning, a surgical guide is fabricated using a 3D printer, transferring the ideal implant positions accurately into the patient’s jawbone.
Patients benefit from:
- Safer, minimally invasive procedures
- Reduced surgery time
- Faster recovery and predictable results
Advanced Implant Options
Implants in Low Bone Volume with Guided Bone Regeneration (GBR)
Sometimes, implant placement can be challenging, especially in bone-deficient cases or when the structural integrity of the alveolar ridge is compromised. In such situations, it becomes necessary to restore the lost bone volume to ensure both the stability and long-term success of the implants.
This is best achieved by using the patient’s own bone and/or artificial bone substitutes, often combined with growth modifiers such as Platelet Rich Fibrin (PRF). These advanced bioengineering techniques are routinely practiced at Kamala Dental Specialty Hospital, ensuring consistently high success rates for implant procedures.

Short Implants
When bone height is limited, short implants provide a stable solution without extensive grafting. These implants are highly effective in the upper back jaw where bone is often shallow.

All-on-Four Implants
A full arch of teeth can be supported on just four implants strategically placed in the jaw. All-on-4 treatment is ideal for patients missing all their teeth, offering a fixed, natural-looking restoration in a shorter timeframe.

All-on-Six Implants
Similar to All-on-4 but with six implants per arch, this technique provides extra stability and long-term strength, especially for patients with higher bite forces.

Zygomatic Implants
Zygomatic implants are used when there is little or no bone left in the upper jaw. Instead of relying on the weakened jawbone, the nearby zygomatic bone is used for support. With two straight implants in the front and two tilted long implants anchored in the zygomatic bone, they provide strong support for hybrid prostheses in cases of severe bone loss in the upper jaw.

Quad Zygoma Technique
When the bone in the front and back parts of the upper jaw is less than 2 mm in width, two implants can be anchored into each zygomatic bone. This creates a strong foundation and offers a reliable fixed solution in cases of severe bone loss.

Implant-Supported Overdentures
Overdentures are a more affordable, semi-fixed alternative to implant-supported hybrid dentures. They are ideal for those seeking a removable yet stable and cost-effective solution. Compared to traditional dentures, implant-supported overdentures offer a better fit, improved comfort, and enhanced chewing function. Typically, two to four implants with ball abutments or Zest anchors are placed, ensuring excellent retention and stability for full dentures.
